Gruesome Deaths of Sisters in Thailand Linked to Local Drink – as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

Two Canadian sisters on holiday in Thailand have mysteriously died. One was in her early 20s and the other in mid 20s. They were visiting the Phi Phi Islands, where the movie ‘The Beach’ was filmed.

Authorities are chalking the deaths up to a local intoxicating drink concocted from coca-cola, cough syrup, crushed up Kratom leaves and a chemical that’s found in insect repellants.

When the women didn’t emerge from their hotel room, the maid opened the door using a master key to find their room covered in vomit and the girls both dead. The reports say that their fingernails and toenails had turned blue, which leads authorities to believe that they died from some kind of poisoning and they’re blaming the local drink, which is usually served by the bucket.

Eerily similar and still unsolved cases have occurred on the same island in Thailand, where the bodies of 2 twenty-something women on vacation were found in 2009 with the same symptoms.
